cuteTube2 for Symbian has now been updated to version 0.5.3. Below is the changelog for the update:
- Fix download/playback of non-working YouTube videos.
- Workaround to allow seeking in videos not reported as seekable in the cuteTube2 video player.

MusiKloud2 for Maemo5 has now been updated to version 0.2.0, whilst the Internet Radio and Mixcloud plugins have both been updated due to a change in the MusiKloud2 plugin API, which now also supports Qt/C++ and JavaScript plugins.
cuteTube2 for Symbian has now been updated to version 0.5.2. This update fixes the retrieval of streams for Dailymotion videos. The SIS package is available from
here. If you are using the Maemo5 version, the fix can be applied by updating the qdailymotion library to version 0.1.8 using the extras-devel repository.
cuteTube2 has now been updated to version 0.5.0 for both Symbian and Maemo5. This update provides logging features and support for handling embedded Dailymotion/Vimeo/YouTube videos in services accessed using the plugins.
cuteTube2 for Symbian has now been updated to version 0.4.0. This update implements some changes to the plugin API and Dailymotion API, and provides some bug-fixes. In addition to the application update, all plugins have been updated due to the plugin API changes, and there is also a new plugin for Videoclip.bg.
It is important that any installed plugins are updated along with the application.
cuteTube2 for Symbian has now been updated to version 0.3.2. This update provides some small UI tweaks for plugins. In addition to the application update, there is a new TV plugin providing access to live TV streams.

QDL for Symbian has now been updated to version 2.2.0. This version allows plugins to make custom settings requests when checking URLs. This feature is required by the updated Filefactory plugin (version 2.0.0) for handling of password-protected links. The plugin update also provides folder support. cuteTube2 for Symbian has now been updated to version 0.2.9. This update fixes an error in retrieving user channel information that resulted in the incorrect avatar being displayed in user channel lists. You can update to 0.2.9 by getting the SIS package from
here.
QDL for Symbian has now been updated to version 2.1.1. This is a minor update that fixes a UI bug preventing selection of the default download path. In addition to the application update, several new plugins have been added. For the full list of plugins and download links, see the

QDL has now been updated to version 2.1.0, with an initial release for the Symbian platform. This is a major update with an entirely new codebase and improved plugin APIs, including support for plugins written in JavaScript aswell as Qt/C++ (I will hopefully document these soon). New features include global and download-specific custom commands (executed when the download is completed), and support for dynamic settings requests (such as an option to choose a video format or provide login credentials) from plugins when making download requests.
cuteTube2 for Symbian has now been updated to version 0.2.8. This update fixes playback and download of some videos that had previously stopped working. However, due to a lack of support for SSL in the Symbian multimedia backend, videos that require SSL will remain unplayable unless downloaded first.
cuteRadio for Symbian has now been updated to version 0.4.2. This is a minor update that includes a small UI change to use the status bar for page titles, resulting in some extra space for content.
All versions of cuteRadio have now been updated to use the new
cuteRadio Data API. This should avoid any further downtime issues. The old service hosted at Heroku will be closed soon.
Due to increased demand, there have recently been problems with the hosting of the cuteRadio internet radio service on
Heroku. As a result, I am now in the process of providing the service with a new home here at marxoft.co.uk. This process
will take a short while, and will result in the loss of all existing data. On the plus side, it will also result in an
up-to-date station database and some new features. I will post further news here as soon as possible.
cuteTube2 - the replacement for
cuteTube, is now
available for Maemo5, MeeGo-Harmattan and Symbian. In addition to supporting version 3 of the YouTube API, cuteTube2
adds new features including support for additional services via plugins and the option to define your own credentials
and access scopes for YouTube, Dailymotion and Vimeo.
As you may be aware, Google are closing version 2 of the YouTube API. As a result, some YouTube features in cuteTube will no longer work. I am currently in the process of re-writing cuteTube to use the
QYouTube,
QDailymotion and
QVimeo shared libraries that I wrote recently. I am hoping this work will be finished within the next couple of weeks. The new client application will have some feature changes, including the ability to extend the list of supported services via plugins.

As you may be aware, the BBC recently discontinued the WMA and AAC streams for their radio stations (see
here for details). As a result, these streams have now been replaced with alternative MP3 streams in the cuteRadio database. Happy listening :)
